International Space Camp

Het International SPACE CAMP heeft als doel de internationale samenwerking in het domein van ruimtewetenschappeen en -techniek te promoten. Ieder jaar worden meer dan 30 landen uitgenodigd om een delegatie te selecteren, bestaande uit twee jongeren (één jongen en één meisje) en een leerkracht om gedurende een week aan dit uitzonderlijke space camp deel te nemen. Je krijgt de kans om deel te nemen aan verschillende activiteiten die plaatsvinden in het centrum waar de programma's zijn opgestart die tot de maanlanding hebben geleid.Je kan er een unieke ervaring opdoen en je passie voor ruimtevaart delen met jongeren uit andere landen.

 
De deelname is volledig gratis. De reiskosten zijn ten laste van de deelnemers maar de Euro Space Society zoekt hiervoor sponsoring. De selectie van de laureaten gebeurt door de vzw Euro Space Society voorgezeten door astronaut Dirk Frimout.

Een week in zeg maar één der heiligdommen van de ruimtevaartgeschiedenis... Misschien komt de droom voor jou waar en mag je ons land tussen dertig andere naties vertegenwoordigen !

U.S. SPACE CAMP® in Huntsville, Alabama is making preparations for International SPACE CAMP® (ISC) 2010, with great hopes and expectations for another successful year.
 
International SPACE CAMP is scheduled from Saturday, July 24 – Thursday, July 29, 2010.  Participation will include one male and one female student and one educator from each of the invited countries.
 
ISC participants are to arrive in Huntsville, Alabama on Friday, July 23, 2010.  Both the student and educator programs will begin Saturday, July 24.  The traditional Parade of Nations, Opening Ceremony, and Welcome Dinner will begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday.  International and U.S. educators attending SPACE ACADEMY® for Educators and international students attending ADVANCED SPACE ACADEMY® will participate in a comprehensive educational program designed to promote interest in space science and exploration as well as global cooperation.  The students’ graduation ceremony from the program will be on Friday, July 30 at 4p.m.  The educators’ graduation ceremony is on Thursday, July 29 at 6 p.m.  Departure arrangements should be made for Saturday July 31, 2010, early morning.
 
Each country will determine the method of selection and will be responsible for selecting their representatives.  Transportation to and from the home country, as well as temporary health insurance must be arranged and provided by the participant or selection agency.  The cost of tuition, food, and lodging during the program will be provided by the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.
 
Please keep in mind that all delegates must be fluent in the English language in order to participate effectively in the program.  Students must be between the ages of 15 and 18 at the time of the program.  This is very important as our programs are age based.
